Description of Process

This ceramic planter is created using a slip casting process, in which liquid stoneware clay (our own) is poured into a hand-built mold (also made by us). Once set, the piece is refined by hand, bisque fired, glazed individually, and then high-fired in our studio kiln. The glaze is layered in stages, creating a cascading effect that blends vibrant colors over rich brown tones—evoking sunrise skies, sandstone, or aged copper patina depending on the kiln’s reaction.

This process ensures structural consistency while preserving the uniqueness and hand-finished feel of each piece. Unlike commercial factory pots, our planters are made entirely in-house using clay bodies and glazes formulated by us.
