Description

Green and Brown Glazed Ceramic Planter – Handmade Color-Dipped Flowerpot

This listing is for ONE over pot for potted plant (plant not included). There are no holes in the bottom of this planter pot, it is meant to hold a smaller already potted plant. The smaller potted planter can be no bigger than listed inner dimensions.

This handcrafted pottery flowerpot makes beautiful addition to your indoor garden. The plants compliment the rich colors of the glaze. As a overpot, it is great for catching water from the potted plant as well as adding to the beauty of the household decor. The pots act as self-watering vessels, in that excess water is absorbed slowly back into the soil. We have these pots all over our house, making a lovely artistic accent.

If you want these flowerpots with drainage holes and saucers, please check out our other listings.

Each planter is meticulously crafted by hand in our family-run studio in Jaroso, Colorado, where we use a slip casting process to ensure consistency while preserving the unique charm of handmade pottery. Whether you’re looking to create an herb garden in your kitchen window, gift a piece of functional art to a plant-loving friend, or simply upgrade from plastic nursery pots, this planter brings form and function together with elegance.

The Making Process

Every piece in our Hidden Garden Pots collection starts with our custom stoneware clay body, mixed in-house for optimal durability and glazing. We then use slip casting, a process where liquid clay (slip) is poured into handmade molds and left to set. This method allows us to maintain consistent forms while preserving the artisanal quality of each object.

Once removed from the mold, the planter is refined by hand and bisque fired. It’s then dipped in our signature handmade glaze blend, which reacts beautifully in the high-heat kiln environment—producing organic drips, layered gradients, and soft textural transitions. The final glaze firing exceeds 2,300°F, ensuring each piece is vitrified, water-tight, and built to last.

Please Note

Every planter is handmade from start to finish, so you can expect slight variations in size, glaze tone, and surface texture. These differences are not defects—they are part of the beauty and individuality of handcrafted ceramics. Your piece will be one-of-a-kind, reflecting the natural irregularities of the making process and the spirit of the hands that shaped it.
