Our Process: Hand-Thrown with Intention

Each miniature vase is individually thrown on the wheel, requiring fine-tuned hand movements and care due to its delicate size. Even the slightest pressure matters—centering the clay and forming its shape is a slow, steady process. Once formed, the vase is trimmed, dried, and bisque-fired before receiving its dual glaze.

The glaze on this vase is a blend of soft sage green and warm ochre-brown, which melt into one another during the glaze firing. This combination evokes natural landscapes—sunlit hills, spring grass, and earthen clay. Each piece emerges from the kiln with its own subtle variation in tone and line.

The entire process, from clay to finished piece, happens under the roof of our busy studio in rural Colorado.
